Here's a recent picture of Madison that just goes to show how she easily has so much control over what happens in her little life... it's the "who me?" face, "can't say no to me" face, the "you better watch it" face. Those big brown eyes say it all.

I just finished working on this pic from the last family I photographed. Just might be one of my all time favorites, besides all of my pictures of Madison, of course! :)

This is what most of my pictures look like of Madison now a days. A little blurry, the side of her face, the back of her head, and an occasional smile. Unless I can bribe her with something, I can manage to get 1 or 2 good shots in. I don't see her energy letting up any time soon, so oh well...

Congratulations to my brother & his family on their baptism on Sunday. It was a beatiful day for a beautiful event. Red flags were flying and water was a little rough, but I have a feeling there was someone there watching over them... ;)

A letter from a wife to her husband about why turf grass isn't a very "green" choice :)

"All turf grasses are high maintenance. There will be a continual demand for irrigation (water, our most precious resource), fertilizer, pesticides, and herbicide. All of which leach into the ground, and continue down into the aquifers, which provide us with our most precious resource. Expensive fossil fuel is burned for the constant mowing, edging, and blowing required to produce the desired effect. Further increasing the disastrous carbon footprint necessary to maintain turf grass.
As with all things in life, there are viable and preferable alternatives. Green is nice, but so is blue, yellow, red, and purple. An array of textures and variety of colors is visually exciting. As an added bonus these plants may be added over time to the landscape, and become extremely low maintenance once established. With the use of native species plants and ground covers you virtually eliminate the need for water, except during a drought. The plants thrive in the existing soil, without a need for amendments and only require periodic trimming and pruning. It’s easy to replace plants or add to the existing plants to enhance the desired design. All at a cost substantially less than green grass, which may end up looking like the crispy, sickly, patch out front.
With the financial burden aside, I would like to strive to keep the environmental damage we create to a minimum. You’ll do exactly as you wish, but it is my wish that my desires be taken into consideration. As well as, the validity of my opinions recognized.
I’ll stop squealing now, which by the way felt demeaning, as did your comment about how I can talk all I want.

Little Lady on Easter

We had a wonderful day on Easter, enjoying the sunshine. Madison had her scavenger/treasure egg hunt at GG's followed by a hunt at Eden Gardens. Here are a few of my favorites. Long, tiring day but worth every minute! :)

Went to Dylan's pageant on Saturday night. I personally believe she was robbed of the title of Young Miss Freeport. She was by far the prettiest. And, NO, I'm not bias :)

I'm officially a blogger now. (pat on the back) I still don't quite get it. Who's going to want to know what I'm up to? Well, here it goes anyway...

This is officially my favorite picture right now. I had the opportunity to photograph my brother-in-law's brother, wife, and new baby boy (are you following that?). For such a little guy, he was so easy to work with, except he didn't like the sand that much. I had so many favorites from this session, but this one topped the list!
